Tacoma Mod & Custom Bumper Build

Built by Kevin (airkewled)  · View build thread ↗

Kevin's 2006 Tacoma DCSB has been a long-running build based out of Moab, UT — home to some of the most demanding trails in the country. After years of wheeling Moab Rim, Fins & Things, Poughkeepsie Gulch, and Engineer Pass, the stock rear bumper had done its time. Time for something purpose-built.

The new bumper needed to be high clearance and recovery-ready. Kevin designed it himself, studying reference photos and working out the geometry before picking up the grinder. For the tube intersections with complex copes, he turned to FabToolkit's pipe coping template generator to get the cuts right.

"Found this gem of a website https://fabtoolkit.com/tools/pipe-coping-template-generator/ — It's awesome." — Kevin, TacomaWorld build thread
The beautiful, finished bumper features three recovery points compatible with soft shackles and bow shackles, a custom integrated license plate mount with recessed LED lighting, and a dimple-died skid section.
